on vacation, two of the founders stopped at an Italian village shop to have what they thought was ice cream. It turned out to be traditional gelato. It was love at first bite!
That experience launched a passion for gelato that followed them back to America. Then in Florida they they shared a dream to open a gelateria based on the traditional craftsmanship and recipes that originated In Italy centuries ago. Two years later, the first Gelato Grotto opened.
